Firewall Forward, Part 6 - It All Comes Together

With the final sealing of the firewall complete, it was time to hang the engine for the final time.  One last view of the bare but sealed firewall.  Shown in the picture below are the heater line inlet hose that will terminate in the lower, forward portion of the head via a 45 degree npt/hose barbed fitting.  Also present is the wire-loomed electrical wiring harness running from the both the battery and load sides of the main contactor (not in view) through the firewall pass through.

The shot below details the throttle cabling as it emerges from the just above the firewall shelf and comes up to a pair of Adel clamps on the upper engine mount and winds around to the bolted fitment on the intake manifold.  From there, the business end of the throttle cable which has a female-cupped fitting which gets snapped into place on the ball end of the butterfly valve arm.

Another passenger side shot of the engine, featuring the two hoses terminating on the water pump tower.  The larger, top hose is the heater outlet hose which exits the heater core in the cockpit and connects to a pass through hose barbed fitting and terminates on the water pump tower's larger fitting.  The smaller hose above the heater outlet line is the outlet hose of the coolant overflow tank.

This picture below shows the firewall routing of the previously mentioned heater outlet hose and coolant overflow lines as they run from their sources, left to right.

A close up picture of the water pump tower and the terminations of the two hoses we have been discussing.  The coolant overflow tank outlet line is the smaller one on top.  The heater return line is on the bottom.  As the water pump tower appears to be a custom machined fitting from Viking, there is no "barb" or lip to keep the 1 inch silicone hose from slipping off.  As a result, Jan's stipulates safety wiring the Oetiker clamp on that hose to the base of the water pump tower as shown below.
